Crownfall RP — no shopkeepers, no scripts, no one coming to save you
Crownfall Roleplay Skyrim Multiplayer

No shopkeepers. No scripts. No one coming to save you.

Every loaf, every blade, every arrest and every debt in this province is made by a player. Nine holds, twenty-seven trades, one economy — and it keeps running whether or not you log in.

Playtest · before the full launch

Crownfall is in open playtest, and everything is subject to wipes before we launch properly — progress, coin, and anything you build. Come and help us break it; just don't get too attached.

Scroll — the ledger opens

Seven things that are true here and almost nowhere else

Nobody sells you anything

There are no merchant NPCs. If you want bread, a player grew the wheat, a player milled it and a player baked it. If the hold's only baker logs off, the hold goes hungry — and somebody notices there's money in bread.

The law is players

Guards clock on and walk real routes. Crimes get written up, and the citizen who reported it grades the guard on accuracy. Arrests are negotiated — surrender, resist, pay the fine — and if it's serious you are walked to a cell and serve real time. No teleporting prisoners.

You cannot read

Open a book and you get runes. Literacy is a skill somebody has to teach you, which is exactly why a coded letter is worthless to you and priceless to a spy.

Your gear remembers

Condition is tracked on every individual copy and travels with it. Sell a worn cloak and the buyer receives a worn cloak. A smith can carve their name into a blade they forged, and that name follows it through every hand after.

The map is not a backdrop

Builders petition the Jarl, gather timber, and raise structures that every player on the server can walk into. Factions claim territory. Rent falls due. Loans default, and the Guard comes to collect.

A full hold isn't a closed door

Holds have a fixed number of sworn posts — one smith, one chef, one banker — and those come with premises, a wage and the Jarl's writ. But the trade is not the appointment. Skill into a craft out in the world and you can practise it anywhere, with no seat and nobody's permission. A hold can only swear one blacksmith; the province can carry as many as can find custom.

Nobody starts important

You wake in a hold with no title, no trade and no coin. Jarls, Stewards, Captains and Thanes are all players who got there. So is the person who'll arrest you.

Nine holds

pick where you wake up

Your first login is a choice of hold and it sticks. Each has its own banner, its own Jarl, its own court and treasury — and its own shortage of tradesmen.

The roster

Every trade is a real loop: something to do, someone who pays for it, and a ladder to climb.

The counts below are the sworn seats inside a hold — the appointed posts, with the wage, the premises and the Jarl's writ behind them. Those are limited, and when one is taken it is taken. The trade itself is not. Skill into a craft out in the world and you can work it wherever you like — no appointment, no waiting list, just the ability and somebody willing to pay you for it. The hold's smith has the forge and the contracts; you can still be a smith.

Open any row to read the trade and see the panel you'd actually be working from.

This is a playtest

read before you invest a fortune

We would rather tell you plainly than have you find out the hard way. Crownfall is open and playable, but it isn't finished — and it will be wiped again before the full launch.

A wipe clears everything

Gold, gear, role and rank, skill points, bank balances, business tills, criminal records, court cases, letters — and every structure a Builder raised. The realm returns to its founding state and everyone starts again as a citizen with nothing. We're not going to pretend some of it is safe.

Why we do it

Because an economy this interconnected can't be rebalanced around whatever fortune happened to accumulate while it was being tested. Rates change, prices change, and occasionally something breaks in a way that can't be unwound. A clean start is better than launching on a bent economy.

Why bother now

A hold with nine players needs a blacksmith far more urgently than one with ninety. Nearly every sworn seat in the realm is still empty right now, and the people here before launch are the ones who work out how these systems actually behave — and whose complaints change them.

How you'll know

Wipes are announced in the Discord before they happen — never as a surprise, never mid-session. If a date matters to you, ask; we'll tell you straight.

Getting in

Join the Discord

Everything runs through it — whitelist, applications, and the raven post when your Jarl wants a word. Read the rules channel and say hello.

Get whitelisted

A short application so we know you're here to play a person, not to grief one. Approval grants the role the launcher checks for.

Run the launcher

It installs the modpack alongside your own Skyrim Special Edition, signs you in with Discord and puts you in the queue. You'll need a legal copy of SSE on Steam.

Download for Windows Windows installer

Sign in on the Discord first — the launcher checks for your whitelist role and won't let you past the door without it.

Pick a hold and a life

Choose where you wake. Read the notice board, apply for a trade, or just be a citizen and find out who needs a hand.

Recent dispatches

The realm is open. It does not need you — which is rather the point.

Come and be somebody in it — while the good seats are still empty.
